Vicente T. Mendoza

La Fonoteca Nacional recuerda al compositor y músico poblano Vicente T. Mendoza, conocido como el fundador de la folclorología musical mexicana, a 133 años de su nacimiento.

Entre sus obras destacan La canción mexicana, Folklore de San Pedro Piedra Gorda, El romance español y el corrido mexicano, Panorama de la música tradicional de México, entre otras.

Te invitamos a escuchar la lectura que hace Óscar Chávez de uno de los textos de Vicente T. Mendoza titulado Visión general del folclor, que muestra las aportaciones del folclor a otras ciencias y la importancia de su legado.
