Celebramos el cumpleaños número 67 años del emblemático músico y compositor estadounidense Tom Waits. Su singular estilo vocal está influenciado por géneros musicales y teatrales como el blues, jazz y el vodevil. De igual modo Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg, Gregory Corso y Charles Bukowski son nombres que están íntimamente vinculados a su obra.

Te invitamos a escuchar la primera parte de un programa de El anaquel, producido por Radio UNAM, en el que Carlota Villagrán hace un esbozo biográfico sobre la vida y trayectoria musical de este extraordinario cantante. En esta emisión se comparten canciones como “Goin' down slow”, “Poncho's lament”, “When you ain't got nobody”, “Little trip to heaven”, entre otras, que forman parte de su disco The early years.
