Hoy se cumplen 62 años de la muerte de Charlie Parker (1920-1955), uno de los mejores saxofonistas de la historia y cuya influencia se extiende desde la música hasta la literatura.

Este compositor revolucionó el jazz al convertirse en uno de los creadores, junto con Dizzy Gillespie, del bebop en los años 40.

Para recordarlo te invitamos a escuchar su interpretación de All the things you are, tema que fue grabado durante el histórico concierto llevado a cabo en el Massey Hall de Toronto, en 1953. En aquella ocasión Parker y su saxofón estuvieron acompañados por Bud Powell (piano), Dizzy Gillespie (trompeta), Max Roach (batería) y Charles Mingus (contrabajo).
