Nuestro audio del día recuerda que hace 111 años nació el tenor y actor mexicano Pedro Vargas (1906-1989). “El samurái de la canción”, como también se le conocía, obtuvo fama al interpretar temas como Santa, Noche de Ronda y Solamente una vez, con su característico sello, obtenido de su formación operística.

Durante su carrera musical, que inició en los años veinte y culminó con su muerte en 1989, Pedro Vargas grabó más de tres mil canciones y participó en más de 70 películas de la llamada Época de Oro del Cine Mexicano.
