Don Susanito Peñafiel, Don Venancio, Jalil Farad, Justiniano Conquian, Espiridión Espiredes, Don Cayetano, Margarito Pimentel, Don Simón y Narciso Escalera son personajes del cine mexicano que tienen un rasgo en común: retratan de una forma picaresca al hombre de México, después del Porfiriato y la Revolución.

Todos ellos fueron interpretados por Joaquín Pardavé, quien nació un día como hoy, pero hace 117 años (1900). Para conmemorar esta fecha te proponemos escuchar Varita de nardo, una canción que compuso a Soledad Rebolledo quien habría de convertirse en su esposa. Esta grabación se incluye en el disco compacto Eva Garza / La hora azul editado en 2005 por Sony BMG.
