Billie Holliday

Hoy, pero hace 56 años, murió Billie Holiday, una de las voces femeninas más importantes del jazz y que debutó profesionalmente en 1934 en el Apollo Theater de Harlem, Nueva York. Como un homenaje sonoro, te invitamos a escuchar su potente voz en la canción “Now they call it swing”, grabada en 1938 a lado del pianista Teddy Wilson y el saxofonista Lester Young, quien por cierto, le otorgó el sobrenombre de “Lady Day”.
